Move Out-2013, Keep Southeast Ohio Beautiful

In observance of Move Out-2013, Keep Southeast Ohio Beautiful, The City of Athens and Ohio University ask all students to donate food and goods to reduce trash, save money, and help those in need.

Now through Sunday, May 5th, several convenient drop-off locations are located throughout the city for you to donate items such as clothing, clean mattresses, furniture, kitchenware and unopened food.

Did you know that 80% of what is disposed of as trash is recyclable and re-usable?  In 2012, students helped us divert almost 100,000 pounds of reusable/recyclable items from our landfills.

For further information, visit the City of Athens website or contact the Athens Solid Waste Litter Control Officer, Tyler Craig, at 592-3306.

About Athens County Emergency Management Agency

Emergency Management Agency is the central point of coordination within the county for response and recovery to disasters. The primary focus of the agency when not in a response or recovery mode is to ensure that the county and citizens residing in it, are prepared to respond to an emergency or disaster and to lead mitigation efforts against the effects of future disasters.
