SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING SW ATHENS CO INCLUDING NELSONVILLE, ALBANY UNTIL 530 PM 12/24, TAKE SHELTER

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN ATHENS CO  INCLUDING NELSONVILLE, ALBANY UNTIL 530 PM

AT 444 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 22 MILES WEST OF WELLSTON OR NEAR WAVERLY, MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM EST WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR SOUTHEAST OHIO AND CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA.

PLEASE REPORT HAIL OR STRONG WIND TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BY CALLING TOLL FREE, 800-401-9535, WHEN YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
