The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Athens County until 9:45 AM Monday.
At 3:44 AM, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 1.5 to 2 inches of rain have already fallen with more rain on the way.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flooding include Coolville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS; Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
