Athens Co 1st Responders complete hazardous materials tabletop exercise on wed, 4/25/18, job well Done!


Athens County LEPC’s tabletop hazardous materials preparedness exercise was held on Wednesday, April 25th at the Nelsonville Fire Department. The scenario was semi-truck carrying multiple hazardous materials that had been involved in a collision with a car on the US 33 bypass and is on fire.

First responders from the Nelsonville Fire and Police Departments, York Township Fire Department, Hocking College Police, Athens County EMS, the American Red Cross, Athens County EMA, Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital, Athens County 9-1-1, Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio EPA were involved in this discussion-based exercise.

This tabletop preparedness exercise helps keep Athens County first responders ready to help our communities during complex and difficult emergency incidents. Thank you to everyone involved and a job well done by all our first responders that participated.
